MySOS turns your phone into a personal security device. It instantly sends emails and SMS texts and BBM along with your GPS position to close family and friends if you are in danger, lost or need rescuing. The app also contains an optional sound alarm that can be activated by simply tapping the phone screen.

Open the app when you think you could be in danger. Then simply tap the screen 3 times to trigger the alert if you become concerned. Up to 3 texts and 3 emails are sent immediately to family members and friends designated by you. Each text and email contains your GPS position and a map showing where you are. Your friend or family member can then either come to your aid or phone the emergency services to help you further.
The application also allows you to send your location information to your family and friends via Blackberry Messenger.

The app also comes with an optional sound alert that makes a shrill noise when triggered, momentarily putting off any potential attacker and alerting passersby to your distress.
