Added Nov. 23: RIM doesnt provide API for us to set LK as default keyboard. However, there is a similar way to make it easy to use:
1. From phone Options Screen/Keyboard, you can assign a convenience key to LK
2. Then any time anywhere you wish to use LK, just highlight the textfield and press convenience key
