This is a utility for BlackBerry programmers. BlackBerry Date values are based on the date of January 1, 1970. This utility converts a date and time to its equivalent long value as calculated by the BlackBerry Java API, according to the time zone your BlackBerry is set to.

For example, for the Eastern Daylight Time timezone, the date Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:00AM corresponds to a long value of 1,276,873,200,000.

This utility is useful when programming and debugging with dates in the BlackBerry Java API.
