Real Contact

Now you can enable your phone to be in RealContact with your BBM friends.
Just set the privacy settings on the app to share your location, availability, battery level and signal level
with each BBM Contact.
Never lose your pal again on a concert or split up in a mall. Get together again just by checking your phone screen.
Let your BlackBerry alert you whenever you get closer than 400 meters/a quarter of a mile from a BBM contact.
RealContact improves meeting chances generating more Coffee Breaks around the world.
Is privacy a concern? Just manage every feature on the settings panel and share only with who you want to.
RealContact does not connect to any external server but only to the BBM infrastructure, protecting your privacy.

PREVIOUS STEPS:

Be sure you have installed BBM 6 and BB Maps
If you don’t have Blackberry Maps installed in your BlackBerry, install it via BlackBerry Desktop Software and NOT via web
Enter the application and make sure that Real Contact connect properly to BBM. If the connection fails, open the BBM and go to the options where you will see BBM connected Applications. Then edit the configuration of the access of BBM connected applications, setting Real Contact as connected.

TUTORIAL:

Once inside the application you will see a map centered on your current location. Invite your friends to join using the Invite friends to join option.
Set up notifications using Notify me when.
Enable the 400 notifier to be notified if a friend is less than 400 meters from where you are.
Set the privacy to hide data using the Privacy option.
Use the Contact List to find your contacts on the map.

All these options can be found by pressing the BlackBerry menu button.

MAPS COVERAGE:

Real Contact works over Blackberry Maps app for contact geolocalization. You need Blackberry Maps installed on your phone.
Remember you CANT install it OTA Over the Air with download link . You need to install it with Desktop Manager.
Maps coverage depends on Blackberry Maps wich is adding Countries constantly and going wider every day.

NOTES:

When your friend accepts your invitation you will see him on the map in green, if he exits the app you will see him in red. In some cases is currently being green forever, we are working on this issue.
If your friend is moving his information will be updated to you every 100 meters to protect your battery.
IMPORTANT: For accurate location you must have a GPS enabled device and to be outdoors. Otherwise, it will use the information provided by the cell towers, which is not accurate.
If a friend disappears from the map, it is likely that he have set his privacy to not be seen.
