Established in 1954, SP is Singapores first polytechnic. Its nine academic schools offer 49 full-time diploma courses and have in total 15,500 students. Over the years, SP has successfully fulfilled its mission of educating and nurturing its students to excel in work and in life. Among SPs 155,000 graduates are successful entrepreneurs, top executives in multinational and public-listed corporations, and well-known professionals.

SP is an exciting place to be as a student, not just because of its many social spaces and cutting-edge facilities but the quality of campus life as well. The polytechnic has invested a great deal for all its students simply because they are highly valued.

High academic standards are maintained with stringent processes put in place to ensure that the quality of its courses is never compromised. A concerted effort is made to ensure that the courses are always relevant and in line with the needs of industry.

Students are required to participate in the Industrial Training Programme ITP where they will be attached to a relevant industry. Some are sent overseas to countries like US, China and Germany for their attachments. Projects form an important part of student training as they inject realism.

Guiding students in their learning journey are SPs experienced lecturers, 60 per cent of whom hold PhD and Masters degrees. With many years of teaching and industry experience, they give a good mix of knowledge and perspectives on the globalised world.
